Four days of talks, performances, tours and workshops that provide unprecedented access to the artists and themes of MIRRORCITY.

For the duration of MIRRORCITY artist Emma McNally will post regularly on our Southbank Centre blog to explore and expand upon the themes of her work featured in the exhibition.

Two artists from the collective Fugitive Images trace the passing of the Haggerston Estate in East London and discuss how fiction can challenge contemporary urban policy.

Alternative School of Economics explores the abstracted nature of money in an afternoon study session and talk with professor Nigel Dodd

Take a walk along the Thames from Waterloo Bridge  to Tower Bridge

For the duration of MIRRORCITY (14 October – 4 January) writer, publisher and technologist James Bridle will carry out an online/offline residency responding to the themes of the exhibition.

A new installation and three-part performance titled Dark Continent, 2014.

A unique artist-led publication edited by Tom McCarthy and presented in a newspaper format, it features newly-commissioned texts and images from the author, artists included in the show and celebrated writers Chloe Aridjis, Stewart Home and Deborah Levy. Includes a full-colour ‘supplement’, featuring large-format images of the works in the exhibition and an introductory essay by curator Stephanie Rosenthal.

Project
The curatorial journey in putting together the Hayward Gallery exhibition, MIRRORCITY, has been an extremely interesting one. As part of the exhibition the Hayward Gallery have invited UNIT to investigate this process and respond to their findings.
