Charles Hayward: 30 MINUTE SNARE DRUM ROLL

Thursday 13 November

In this performance, which takes place within Emma McNally's installation in MIRRORCITY, musician Charles Hayward takes a rudimentary drum technique – the drum roll – and extends it into an “undulating line that pirouettes and spirals through space, changing density, pressure and volume.” Hayward intends a parallel between the "pencilled, monochromatic sound" of the drum roll, and the repeated graphite lines of McNally's large-scale drawings.

There will be two performances, each lasting 30 minutes.
