London artists on fiction and reality

14 October 2014 - 4 January 2015

MIRRORCITY shows recent work and new commissions by key emerging and established artists working in the capital today. These artists seek to address the challenges, conditions and consequences of living in a digital age.

Paul Prudence: Cyclotone

Saturday 15 November

Cyclotone uses field recording gathered from a wide range of sources as a starting point for conjectures, fictions, and anachronistic poetic narratives relating to space flight.

The work commemorates the first wave of Russian cosmonauts who achieved space travel, as well as the artists of the Constructivist movement who ventured into space conceptually.

In Cyclotone Prudence combines sound and video material to create a complex series of nested geometric forms which are transformed, deformed and modulated by ‘acousmatic sound’ – sound for which there appears to be no originating source.
